Painting provides me with the freedom I have yearned for all my life. I was born in Iran, in a strict and oppressive culture, where the people are deprived of even the most basic forms of human rights. Coming to America gave me some relief, but I was still missing a deeper sense of freedom. It was only when I discovered painting that I felt content and at peace.
